I'm Jewels- wife to my best mate and Mum to our 3 darling girls. Our staffy pup Stella is the fourth baby of our family and this Mama is a little besotted. I'm a birth & postpartum doula & absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE being a doula. I love birth, I love the deep connections I get to form with my clients, I love the magic of guiding women to advocate for what they want, I love seeing them empowered & in control of their experience- this is soul work.
My business name- Your Birth Bestie literally reflects what I'm like as a doula- in pregnancy I am always up for a chit chat and love building rapport. I want to be the type of support you can check in with to share a pic, ask for advice or have myself come along to your antenatal check ups with you.
In the birthing space you can think of myself as your wing woman - an anchor for both you & your partner, protecting your sacred birthing space, liaising with staff and quietly guiding you back into your birthing brain, keeping you grounded & safe. I truly believe that everyone, especially women (and even more so mothers) have the strongest sense of intuition. That inner knowing is your superpower girl. I believe the connection between the mind and body go hand in hand. I've witnessed first hand how this plays out in labour. Birth as a rite of passage where we give time, respect, space and flow is simply magic.
