Hi, I’m Gillian. I’m a certified Birth and Postpartum Doula based in Melbourne’s south east supporting anyone birthing at home or hospital in the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne including Bayside, Kingston, Monash, Frankston, and Mornington Peninsula.
I am a mum of three and it was my different birth experiences that led me down the path to become a Doula. My two hospital births taught me that having the knowledge isn't enough, you need to understand how the system works and be able to advocate for yourself within that system.
My home birth taught me how empowering it can be to have someone you trust, who listens to your wants and needs, and is there for you from pregnancy, during birth and after your baby is born. I support women and their partners through the journey of pregnancy, childbirth and beyond.
We are powerful and resilient and as a Doula I believe my role is to guide you with knowledge and support to harness your power and be in control of your birth choices. All women should feel respected and heard in the birth space. My role as a Doula is to ensure that women are informed and feel empowered to make their own decisions in pregnancy and childbirth.
Having the information and knowledge is not enough if no one is listening. I will help you raise their voice. I bring a calm and grounded presence, providing continuous emotional, educational and practical support during your pregnancy, birth and beyond.
