Hello, my name is Danielle Cooper and I am a pregnancy, birth and post partum doula working in Sydney and surrounding areas. I completed my studies in birth and doula support services at the Australian Doula College in 2013.

I also have a BA from the University of Sydney specialising in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander studies and a Juris Doctor (Post Graduate Degree in Law) from the University of Technology Sydney and University of NSW.

I am passionate about listening to what women/people expecting a baby want from their care providers, educating them about ALL of their options and empowering them in pregnancy, labour, birth, parenthood and beyond. My role as your doula is to support you in having the pregnancy, birth and post-partum experience and care you would like.

I work with you through your pregnancy to listen to your needs and preferences for your care and share information and resources that will support you in your learning, preparations and planning. I facilitate conversations with you and your partner that empower you in working with your health care providers and navigating your choices in pregnancy, labour and birth. In labour and birth, I work with you, your partner and your midwife/obstetrician to provide you with techniques and tips to support you in your labour and birth, ensure you have continuity of care and provide you with a sounding board and someone to assist you and your partner in advocating for the fulfilment of your rights, needs and wishes in labour and birth.

I believe that everyone has the right to access high quality health care and in pregnancy, labour, birth and the postpartum period this is of immense importance, as it lays the foundations for a happy and healthy life. In practicing as a doula, I have had the pleasure of working with a diverse range of people, bringing humans into the world in a full range of circumstances. This has taught me that there is a full spectrum of ways people approach pregnancy, labour and birth and make decisions about their birthing options and care. In my experience, whichever approach you take if you and your partner feel supported, well informed and empowered this leads to positive outcomes for you and you baby. I would be delighted to support you in your pregnancy, labour and birth journey.
