I’m Mandi, a certified Doula, wife and mother to 3 adult children.
I have always been fascinated by the human body and how it works and have many years of experience with reflexology, massage and wellness. My passion for the birth process began through the learning I did during my own pregnancies and births. I quickly learnt that we all get our own unique birth story each time we birth.
I was born in South Africa and moved to Sydney in 2003. I had worked as a doula (I called myself a birth coach) for 2 years in Johannesburg and quickly realised I’d found my passion, but the immigration delayed my plans and I spent the next 17 years raising my kids and helping my husband build up and run our business.
Now I am in the next chapter of my life and working as a Birth Doula in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs whilst also seeking to live a cleaner low tox and healthy life.
As a Doula I honour the process and journey of birth and the impact it leaves on the family.
It is one of the greatest transitions a person/family can experience.
My intent is to be a great listener providing non-judgemental and continuous support before, during, and after birth. All women should receive the continuity of care they deserve and this includes feeling supported, respected, informed, connected and safe.
Healthy mums and babies are my objective while respectfully working alongside the midwives and other medical professionals in a supportive role to both the labouring mum and her partner.
No matter how birth happens, it is our rite of passage into motherhood and we deserve for
it to be an empowering, amazing and transformative journey.
I will share my knowledge (not opinions) and offer comfort measures such as relaxation techniques, effective breathing techniques, massage and positioning while we manage labour using all the tools at our disposal!
I hope we get to partner together and create a safe and nurturing space in which you and your partner feel supported, secure and held through this life changing time.
