My name is Amelia and I am an end of life doula from Melbourne.
It was my late mother who inspired me to want to become a death doula.
I was by her side when she passed and like lessons in life she taught me about death and how to die. She died with such dignity and grace even though she had succumbed to cancer at the tender age of 63.
Every person has the right to be informed about death and the many choices that they have
I am here to hold the space for the dying and to provide a death that allows the dying to take some control over what can feel uncontrollable.
It is not only about having the best death possible but for the people who know them to be able to participate in the process with love in a way that is manageable and controllable for the person that is dying.
I bring a safe space for people to explore feelings, articulate their hopes and wishes and to talk about their fears.
I am kind, empathetic, friendly, I am not judgemental and a great listener and communicator.
