Completed training: 2021
Other modalities: Osteopathy
I am a birth and postpartum doula, as well as a Mum & baby specialist osteopath practicing in Whangarei.
I have always held an interest in the perinatal period, and found my way into working with women and babies through my osteopathic practice. There, I came to realise the variety of experiences, the huge range of "normal", and what an enormous difference it can make for women to feel heard and supported - especially during this chapter of life. It was through this work that I started to understand what the role of a doula really is within our NZ maternity system.
In all areas of my work, I aim to assist people in feeling informed and empowered about their health and any related decision making. This may mean I'm helping to educate, participating in discussions, or merely being a sounding board for ideas or thoughts as they are processed. I want for people to know their options and feel good about the decisions they make along the way.
