Natika

Hi there!

My name is Natika (Teeks) and I am a Trained Birth and Postnatal Doula. I live on the beautiful Capricorn Coast with my wonderful hubby and our two beautiful daughters. I love coffee dates, mexican food and watching birth vlogs in my spare time (ha, but really what is that?).

I have always been drawn to supporting people, especially women. I just so happen to also be a little obsessed with pregnancy and birth, which is why after the arrival of our first little girl I decided to look into pathways of how I could support pregnant women and their families (non medically). I discovered the Australian Doula College and I couldn’t have been more excited to start working towards my new career as a Doula.

My current doula offerings include Birth Preparation and Postnatal Support. My main goal is to prepare you and your partner/support person to work as a team, trust and listen to your body and use the skills and knowledge you have gained in your birth preparation sessions. In the birth preparation session/s, we will discuss your birth wishes, cover any fears or concerns, practice comfort techniques and even write affirmations together. We can do visualisation, relaxation and breathing exercises or even go for a relaxing walk and debrief along the beach- whatever feels best for YOU!

I can be the filler of support between antenatal appointments. I am there for reassurance and encouragement, to keep you calm and help you gather your thoughts should there be any change to your circumstances. I may be the company you crave if you are ever doubting yourself or your abilities…especially when those final weeks approach. I will comfort you, I will nurture you.

I truly believe as a society we are recognising more and more how important our postnatal care is. There are so many highs and lows (which majority of the time no one likes to talk about). You don’t have to impress me. You don’t have to tidy or keep apologising for ‘the mess’. You don’t even have to get out of your pj’s. I like to think I have a good intuition (which can be a curse sometimes) and a pretty good judge of recognising if you need to talk. Plus, I’ll bring coffee and treats.

I am so grateful that I am now in a position where I can support other women and their families and help guide them towards their desired birth experience. I truly believe everyone deserves a doula, no matter how they choose to give birth.

If this all sounds pretty good to you and the extra support you are looking for, I would love to hear from you. Please feel free to message me on Instagram @yourdoulateeks or contact me via the contact page on my website.
