Deb McEvoy-Herbert

Deborah is a qualified Social worker, who is passionate about the rights of women, children and young people. Having worked many years across the community service sector, she has a wealth of experience in assisting individuals to reach their goals. In fact Deb has a strong history of exceptional works within the community service sector spaning Disability, Ageing, and children services. Her career journey is a demonstration of her abilities; spanning the provision of positive outcomes and learning experiences for young children with disabilities, mentoring direct care workers in Women’s accommodation services, through to programming and budgeting responsibility for government departments.
Deb is an exceptional counsellor, life coach and mentor. Over the last 3 years she has developed a passion for using the modalities of art and play as part of her skills to work with children, with positive outcomes. Deb is vibrant and courageous in all aspects of her work; she is committed to evidence based interventions and works to make a difference in people’s lives. Deb in 2005 was awarded the prestigious Children’s week award for: Outstanding work as an individual in the Inner West.
Deb is an inspirational worker committed to thinking outside the square, she has developed new models of service delivery, and has been selected to present at the National Disability Association conference on two occasions. Most recently in 2011, Deb presented on an innovative model of service delivery developed by her and two peers. Deb has presented a lively workshop at the ‘Refocusing women’s experience of violence’, which also introduced an innovative best practice model.
Deb is a member of the Australian Association of Social Workers; she is committed to her own professional development at every level. Deb is also undertaking additional study in the area of Naturopathy, which will allow her to provide clients with holistic and comprehensive care.
Deb brings all of this experience and passion together to create healings through expressive therapy.
