Course Information

The birth and post natal doula:

We deliver, under a training partnership with Re:Viva First Aid and Resuscitation, the only nationally accredited Doula Training in Australia: Certificate IV in Doula Support Services (NTIS code 91494NSW).

This very special, professional and comprehensive doula training course makes the magic world of birth doula-ring come alive. In 20 lessons, covering the specialist units of the Cert IV, you will become aware of your core beliefs about birth and the way that can impact on you and your clients.

Our doula training will prepare you to become an outstanding doula and how to meet your own needs and the needs of your clients. You will discover how to help your clients prepare for an empowering birth, understand what empowers or disempowers a birthing woman, and how to help her to bond deeply with her newborn baby. The doula training sessions show you how to create a good working relationship with your clients. You will learn how to deal with difficult situations and how to support your clients through the first weeks after birth.

To gain your certificate, doula trainees will need to complete the follow requirements:

  1. Complete pre-course information sheet and all assignments
  2. Attend 2-terms of ten weeks training (80 hrs of face to face training)
  3. Support at least 3 births as a doula in training
  4. Develop resources list for pregnant women and new parents
  5. Applied First Aid (formally, senior first aid)
  6. Demonstrate openness and ability to integrate knowledge and feelings

Our doula training will increase your knowledge of the natural process of birth, and the options offered to women both at home and in hospital. It will also improve your understanding of the needs of mother and baby.

It will give you the means to distinguish between traditional myth and real opportunities, and the needs of mothers. This will be a turning point in your understanding of physical, emotional and spiritual issues of childbirth.

You will receive weekly course material to work on during class and various homework assignments. Setting aside between 2-4 hours should cover the reading and homework.

Investment for our non accredited but ADC certified doula training is only $2200.00  (for 2 terms of 10 weeks)
This amount is due in full on the first day of training unless you are on one or our agreed payment plans.
