Doula Services

Professional labour and birth support, know as a doula, brings an amazing energy and insight into your birth experience. Doulas come with a simple willingness and pasion to be with you in childbirth. No matter how long that is or how that looks for you. They bring their passion and understanding of the birth process and they have a total belief in the power and ability of the labouring woman.  The doula does not take over from the partner if present but compliments them and encourages and supports them to be present to the labouring woman and her needs.

A doula offers continous support at the birth of your child ensuring:

• you have a skilled set of hands 'holding the space' for you at home and / or in hospital
• you are surrounded by nurturing and caring energy
• you have a reduced risk of unnecessary interventions
• your own strength and creative capacity to give birth is enhanced

Hiring a doula through the ADC includes 2 visits before and 2 after the birth, and support at the birth.  (Additional costs for more pre or postnatal visits can be discussed if required).  An ADC doula commits to being available on and around your estimated due date, so is on 'standby' for 2 weeks either side of that date and on call 24/7 to offer phone support.

Fees:

As a training facility we are able to offer trainee doulas for $320.00 + GST

We also have many experienced doulas available with varying modalities and years of experience and fees are$650.00 for a quilfiied doula, $800.00 for an experienced doula and $1000.00 for a senior doula.

In hospital: birth centre, labour ward or at home. What ever the experience you desire or require, we support you in your decisions.

Please note that our trainees are not presented for a job unless we beleive they are ready and our trainess have an experienced doula on call for them during their training births.

The investment for our trainee doulas is payable in full when you confirm your doula. With our more experienced doulas a non
refundable deposit is taken to hold the time around your dates. If you choose not to ring the doula at the time of your birth, the full fee is
still payable as the doula has been on call for you. If your baby comes early or quickly then our doulas are flexible in the services they can
provide and all efforts will be made to continue to work with you.
