Childbirth & Early Parenting Education
Childbirth and early parenting education is an important part of a woman's or couples preparation for the arrival of their newborn.
Women used to receive pregnancy and childbirth information and confidence from other older, wiser women in their circle. Whilst this still occurs in some cultures it usually does not happen naturally in ours. Combine this with negative media and birth stories along with birth occurring mostly behind closed doors and alot of women go into childbirth not knowing they have options, feeling fearful and are unaware of their own capacity to labour and give birth.
Partners need childbirth education and support as well, as now they are usually present at the birth. This is as wonderful, as it is daunting.
At the ADC we offer balanced, non biased childbirth and early parenting education. These groups are kept small to allow parents to get the most out of the groups and your doula and/or support people are welcome!
Alternatively, we can also present childbirth and early parenting education in your home or office. These 'at home' sessions are taylor made to suit your needs and requirements and are presented at a time that works for you. Private sessions are also available at our centre in Marrickville.
Our experienced educators and facilitators present up to date, relevant information in a relaxed and caring atmosphere. Our aim is to empower you to better understand your choices and capabilities, and feel good about your upcoming birth experience.
We can prepare you for any birth situation from homebirth - caesarean.
